Welcome to Spider Week of Journey to the Ugly Bug Ball!

This week we will be singing about lots of bugs in The Ugly Bug Ball by The Sherman Brothers. We will be singing, learning about spiders, and making spooky spider cupcakes!

Here is a lovely poem for you:

The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt.

“Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,
“‘Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to shew when you are there.”
“Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

A challenge:

We challenge you to try and find a spider in your classroom, house or garden and look at them carefully. What do you notice, can you draw a picture of them?

This week’s book suggestion is one to read with your family or carers. It is called The Very Hungry Spider by E.B Adams.

If you have any pictures of your crafting activities we would love to see them!

Please upload them here.
