The Norfolk Students’ Jazz Orchestra was invited to provide the music for the Norfolk County Council Chairman’s Final Reception on Friday 3 May 2019.

Councillor Margaret Stone celebrated her year as Chairman of Norfolk County Council in a private reception at Norwich Castle.

The band, led by Music Service tutors Geraldine Evans and Kit Cecconi, was honoured to be playing at the event. They played a selection of jazz pieces and standards as guests were arriving and again after the speeches.

Cllr Stone said: “We’d like to thank the Norfolk Students’ Jazz Orchestra for providing wonderful music. It really was tremendous, thank you.”

This event was the last time the Norwich Castle Keep will be seen in its current form as they are soon to undergo a transformation project to restore the Keep to as it appeared during its heyday as a Norman royal palace. Read more about Gateway to Medieval England >>
