Educator Solutions Music Service: Trinity Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators

This is a flexible, 2 year CPD programme delivered by Educator Solutions Music Service that is awarded by Trinity College of Music at a GNVQ Level 4 (equivalent to the first year undergraduate).

Who is it for?

The Trinity CME is suitable for anyone who works as a music educator with children and young people, including:

  • Instrumental and vocal teachers
  • Early years and primary teachers
  • Teaching assistants
  • Community musicians and workshop leaders
  • Professional musicians who undertake education work

What will I learn on the course?

6 units will enable you to:

  • Understand music learning (45 hours study)
  • Plan and deliver great music sessions – whatever your favourite music (45 hours study)
  • Learn how to evaluate your work and better understand professional development (35 hours study)
  • Understand behaviour and how to manage challenging behaviour
  • Learn how equality, diversity and inclusion connect with music sessions
  • Be confident and secure in your safeguarding strategies

How much does it cost?

The full cost of the course will be £1,000 however, thanks to funds allocated from the Norfolk Music Education Hub a number of subsidised places will be made available to participants who can demonstrate that children in Norfolk will directly benefit from the course input. Course learners will be expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from teaching sessions plus any visits to schools. Please contact music.service@norfolk.gov.uk.

Following acceptance onto the course you will be supported by a mentor who will guide you through the course. It encourages music educators to develop new skills, consolidate their understanding of the purposes of music education, and build upon their reflective practice, with the ultimate goal of enhancing their contribution to the musical learning of children and young people in Norfolk.
